ESMS trafikvarvet - radiosnack
Speciellt hur man komprimerar radiosnacket.
Texten är återgiven med Bo's medgivande.

ESMS Traffic Circuit
In order to facilitate for our friends in the tower:
1. When in traffic circuit, always report "TURNING BASE".
Sturup is a large airport, we are small and normally do large traffic circuits. Left base runway 29 is half way to Polen. They facilitate for us, we shall extend same courtesy.
2. TWR prefers TGL on RWY in use, 17/35.
First TO and last LDG on 11/29, but if wind and exercise permits do training on 17/35.
3. Shorter radio traffic.
- On first call state requested RWY and intentions, so TWR do not have to ask obvious stupid questions.
- On return when reporting entering CTZ, same thing, state intentions and requested RWY.
- Students shall write down expected clearance before requesting same. There is too much waiting time between clearance and read-back when student is busy writing down the clearance. We normally get what we want, so write it down beforehand.
- In case TWR has a strip, that is if we have called in an ATC FPL (either a full one or short by telephone to TWR), go ahead with message directly. They are professionals and have done this before, believe me.
- When approaching holding point for TO you shall be ready for departure, AND SHALL REPORT THIS!
BAD practice:
YOU - Sturup, SEABC
TWR - SEABC Sturup
YOU - SEABC request taxi
TWR - SBC what is your position
YOU - SBC position is Apron West
TWR - SBC and what runway do you prefer? Wind is 330 at 10.
YOU - SBC prefers RWY 29
TWR - SBC taxi into position RWY 29 via backtrack.
...15 sec silence...
YOU - Taxi into position 29 via backtrack. SBC
TWR - SBC QNH 1014
...20 sec silence...
YOU - QNH 1014. SBC
GOOD practice:
YOU - Sturup, SEABC, at Apron West, QNH 1014, request taxi for RWY 29
TWR - SBC, taxi into position RWY 29 via backtrack
YOU - Taxi into position 29 via backtrack, SBC
IFR:
State, at first call: Position, RWY, intentions, "information A received", QNH, "Request engine start and clearance"
EXAMPLE:
Sturup, SEABC, at aporon West, Request RWY 35 and ALM hold, Information A, QNH 1014, Request engine start and clearance.
